Fluctuations on the capital market offer long-term investors the opportunity to acquire fund units at favourable prices.
If prices fall, you automatically buy more units through your savings plan.
If prices rise, you proceed cautiously through your savings plan and buy fewer units.
If prices fall, there is a greater chance that prices will continue to fall. What is good for the savings plan is bad for the one-off investment. That is why we check once a month whether the "airbag" needs to be triggered to avoid substantial losses.
If the "airbag" is triggered, the savings plan allows you to continue to benefit from low prices and buy additional fund units. The equity from the "airbag" will only flow back when there are clear signs of stabilization in the markets and a buy signal is generated during the monthly check.
